TRUTH here is not truth as in true or false.
Truth can either be True or False, Good or Bad, God or Devil. The reason this concept is
important to us, the future film makers are that we are one of the privileged lot who
controls the psychology of the majority of people of this planet. A carefully engineered
film can become a powerful weapon of destruction or a tool to create civilisation. Several
film makers world-wide, in the past used films to change the mood of nations and instigate
people to believe in their points of view. Some of them helped their nations to gain
freedom, some reformed societies and unfortunately, some helped in breeding hatredness. An
argument about the concept of truth would help us in telling a story without taking sides.
It would also help a story teller to draw a clear line between good and bad. Even if
somebody wants to take a biased view to some issue, a good understanding of truth would
help them in imposing restrain and caution.
The definition of truth is debatable. Since the day animals started thinking there was
always a search for truth. Even a dog searches for truth and decides its preferences.
Humans have from time immemorial searched and defined truth in several different ways. The
theories and expressions of communication, religion, art and science originated from this
search. Except for science that required physical proof, rests were generally based on
local environs. Truth in its purest form was never defined. Most of the searchers took the
easy route by personifying the unknown, the TRUTH.
The definition of truth is simple, "Truth is the logical
conclusion of an analytical argument." That means whether it is the question
of religion, language or science the theory should always conclude on the logical option
after an analytical argument. To understand this better let us take an example -- The most
asked question in civilisation through time is the question about the unknown. Looking
around us, our environment, our planet and the Universe, we see a pattern in their
positions and movement. We even have the required intelligence and a system to pinpoint
the positions and their movements for the next thousand years and more. This in a nutshell
means that the action of the 'Unknown' is based on mathematical logic.
For argument sake let us say that God is in control of this Universe as described by the
religions of our civilisation. When there is a God, the protagonist, there originates an
antagonist, let us say a Devil. This means difference of opinion. If God says Sun should
always rise in the East, Devil would say West. This leads us to a power struggle of
Galactic proportions. In the real world this never happened. Religious texts of almost
every religions did mention this in some story or the other. This is a clear indication
that somebody in the past did think about such a logic and to convince believers and the
faithful created stories of epical magnitude. So, to conclude, whatever theories of the
unknown described by religions were imaginations of social reformers.
This system or school of thinking, based on logic can be applied to solve problems that
crop up at every stage in our lives, professional and personal. Fundamental problems that
plague our planet like religious intolerance, linguistic differences, racial
discrimination and social problems like break up of families, relationships, etc., can
easily be solved if people start thinking about the "truth" and implement the
conclusions systematically and logically. It is time for us, Homo Sapiens to apply the
concept of truth and become HUMANS.
